Bycker-Polluck Architects
For Bycker-Polluck architects, a firm specializing in design development
work for other architects, the search for the perfect software was
worth the wait.
Struggling with the 3d modeling
limitations of other programs as early as 1991,
the partners leapt at Form Z after the initial presentation. "It
has helped our lay clients as well as our colleagues
view their design's thoroughly, as well as proving
that innovation can be achieved, without a lot of risk"
"formZ is wonderful to model all aspects of a design. It allows
us to anticipate potential structural problems. It also helps us and
our clients to visualizing a design, go through iterations until everyone
is happy," Joseph Kokot said, one of the two partners of the firm.
Bycker-Polluck integrates formZ as a 3D visualization tool, preliminary
designing tool, and a tool to communicate their design ideas. formZ
has not only instrumental in all 3D modeling aspects, but has also
helped them produce 2D drawings of buildings worth up to 7 millions
dollars in construction costs.
The imaginative Architects from
Bycker-Polluck sketch on tools as simple as
paper napkins to creating 3D models on formZ. "We go
back and forth from paper sketches to 3D Models and animations with
formZ. The transition is very fluid," Kokot said.
"For us our virtual world is mainly a tool to do better architecture,
to understand and create better designs." In some of their cinema
and theater projects, part of their workflow includes
the integration with many other programs such as
Electric Image and Lightwave.
Under pressure formZ support Team
has proven to be second to none. During the
night before a tight deadline, Bycker-Polluck had printing problems.
formZ technical support staff was helping the whole way through until
the problem was fixed!. "I
was so impressed with how much technical support
we got on such short notice."
"As part of our architectural design service, we maximize the
use of the formZ 3D model by extracting 2D plans,
sections and elevations and by producing realistic
renderings and sophisticated animations." Kokot
said.
